Police have arrested and charged a
sixth Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) member over the alleged robbery of a tattoo
parlour in Newtown last year.
Police will allege a number of Nomads OMCG members stole items from the tattoo
shop on King Street about 8pm on Thursday 29 July.
The stolen items included two Harley-Davidson motorcycles and a tattoo stencil
machine.
An investigation was launched by detectives from Newtown Local Area Command and
the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor.
About 7am yesterday, police raided a home on Hoad Place in Greystanes and
arrested a 51-year-old man. It is alleged the man is a member of the Nomads OMCG.
He was taken to Merrylands Police Station and charged with robbery in company,
steal from person, and participating in a criminal group.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Fairfield Local Court on
Wednesday 2 February.
Strike Force Raptor executed a series of search warrants on homes in the Penrith
area in August and September last year and they arrested five people.
Yesterday’s arrest was the sixth person to date to be charged over the robbery.
