Half of farmers leave bike helmet behind
Monday, 13 September 2010
Research has found fifty per cent of farmers do not wear helmets when riding the farm motorbike.
The Kondinin Group's latest
National Agricultural Survey also found that only one in five farmers always
wears a helmet.
Farm safety expert Peter Hickey says farmer's excuses for not wearing a helmet
included that they were uncomfortable, restricted hearing and made it hard to
direct their dogs
Perhaps the facts that
A: the chance of falling off on the dirt or grass at less than the speed of sound and actually hurting yourself is pretty damn minimal,
B: you dont have to wear one on private property.
C: you dont even have to own one
might point to the fact that they're not all stupid and unduly influenced by idiots that think they need to tell other people what to do. Who needs an excuse?
