Men with bikie links charged over brawl

TWO men linked to a bikie gang have been charged over a brawl at a Brisbane restaurant.

Police arrested the men, linked to the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang, in early morning raids at New Farm and Sunnybank today.

The arrests relate to a vicious brawl at a restaurant in the Mt Gravatt shopping centre on April 17.

Detectives from Queensland's anti-bikie taskforce said the arrests showed police were determined to prosecute gang members if they put the public at risk.

"Those allegedly involved in this brawl had connections to outlaw motorcycle gangs and while no formal assault complaint was made, the victims in this incident were the business operator and the community," Detective Superintendent John Sheppard said.

"We all deserve a sense of safety and the knowledge you can go about your day without becoming an unwitting victim to an incident involving OMCG members or their associates."

The men, both 25, have been charged with affray and will face the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
