Wayne Tweeddale has had his prison sentence increased by a year in
the court of appeal.
Tweeddale was sentenced to a three-year jail term after pleading
guilty to 10 charges when he appeared before Judge John Clapham in
the Wanganui District Court in October 2010.
He was convicted of several offences, including assaults, wounding,
possession of weapons, burglary and threatening to kill.
The crown appealed the conviction, and Tweeddale had his sentence
increased to four years on March 30.
The charges stemmed from an incident on October 3, 2010, which
turned violent when Tweeddale pulled a knife and a gun.
when Tweeddale went to an isolated rural property north of Wanganui
with the intention of sorting out a dispute over a piece of land.
A confrontation turned violent and Tweeddale pulled a knife and a
gun, and threatened to kill a woman.
