A MEMBER of the
Bandidos motorcycle gang is behind bars today after pleading guilty
to terrorising staff and patrons at a Gold Coast pub with an axe.
John Michael Fahey, 35, of Mermaid Waters, was jailed for nine
months to be released after serving three months of the sentence.
He was also banned from attending the Mermaid Tavern or Jupiters
Casino for a year following his release from prison.
Fahey pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court to going
armed to cause fear, wilful damage and being drunk and disorderly on
a licensed premises.
The court was told that on November 14, 2010, Fahey punched a patron
at Jupiters Casino after he was accidentally bumped into.
That same day he was evicted from the Mermaid Tavern but returned 30
minutes later with an axe and attacked the door.
