Counties Manukau police are hunting Rebels gang member Duane David Wilson, who they say is dangerous and should not be approached.

Firearms and chemicals used to make methamphetamine were seized from his home this morning.

Wilson was not home at the time and police recovered a shotgun, a loaded cut down .22 rifle and an air rifle.

A significant amount of Rebel's gang paraphernalia was also found including a new Rebels gang patch.

Detective Inspector Dave Lynch said the connection to the Rebels was concerning, but not surprising, giving the gang's history.

"This reinforces the reason police and the community do not want this gang in New Zealand and why they will be subject to a concerted enforcement campaign," he said.
