New beds for Cooma Hospital

29 Jun, 2010 03:12 PM

Cooma Hospital will purchase two electric beds with a $5,000 donation from the Vietnam Veterans M.C. Federal Chapter.

Hospital manager Liz Mendes accepted the cheque on behalf of the Cooma Women’s Auxiliary.

The Vietnam Veterans motorcycle club raised the money through its major fundraising event, their annual poker run which was held during March.

Based in Canberra, the Vietnam Veterans raise money every year to donate to Canberra and Cooma Hospitals.

The group visited Cooma Hospital on Thursday to present the cheque to Mrs Mendes.

The six riders were travelling to different towns throughout the shire, and beyond, to present organisations that sponsors the group with certificates of appreciation.
