Ten people have been arrested for drug
and firearms offences after raids on places in Adelaide
linked to the Commancheros outlaw motorcycle gang.
The operation involved 160
police who searched a total of 34 properties, police said.
They found six handguns, four
rifles, ammunition and prohibited weapons including a flick
knife, bayonets, tasers, batons.
Police said they were
particularly concerned to find four of the handguns fully
loaded, one was fitted with a silencer and a laser sight.
One of the handguns was
allegedly found at the home of a Commanchero member who
received a gunshot wound to the groin earlier this month,
police said.
The drugs they allegedly found
included a kilogram of cannabis, 22 cannabis plants, 300
grams of amphetamine, a large quantity of steroids and
cocaine along with glassware, chemicals and other items of
prescribed equipment used in the production of illicit
drugs.
Police said they also seized
27 mobile phones, fireworks and $135,300 in cash.
The nine men and one woman
arrested have been charged with a range of different
offences relating to the goods allegedly seized.
