Bikie pleads not
guilty over nightclub brawl

A MEMBER of the Coffin Cheaters bikie gang, Troy Mercanti, and two other men
have pleaded not guilty to charges relating to a brawl at a Fremantle
nightclub.
Police allege Mr Mercanti, 39, from
Duncraig in Perth's north, was involved in an altercation with security
staff at the Harbourside Nightclub in the early hours of August 5.
One of the security staff was stabbed
during the fight and two others were injured.
Mr Mercanti today pleaded not guilty
in the Fremantle Magistrates Court to two counts of common assault.
Co-accused Lee Michael Holmes, 27, of
Embleton, pleaded not guilty to six counts of unlawful wounding, and Isaac
Peter Taylor, 31, from Spearwood, pleaded not guilty to two counts of common
assault and one of assault occasioning bodily harm.
The matter has been listed for hearing
on September 3, 2007.
