Victorian Coffin Cheaters raided

Victorian police raided the Warragul clubhouse of the Coffin Cheaters Motorcycle Club along with six properties linked to club members in a co-ordinated dawn operation.
A sub-machinegun, another high-powered rifle, five pistols and three shotguns were found as police moved in at Warragul, Longwarry, Narre Warren, Noble Park, Carrum Downs and Seaford.

Thousands of rounds of ammunition were confiscated. Cannabis and white powder believed to be amphetamines were also seized. Alleged child pornography was found on a disk during the search of a Warragul house.

Alcohol from the Phoenix St clubhouse was also seized, with police claiming the club did not have the required licence to sell alcohol

Four men and a woman were arrested during the raids.

Insp Keith Cantle of Warragul police said yesterday's arrests and seizures were the "fruits of months of hard work and planning".

It was Victoria's second large series of raids against outlaw clubs in the past month. On May 18, 12 men were arrested in a police operation on 27 properties linked to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.
