Victorian Coffin Cheaters raided
Victorian police raided the Warragul clubhouse of the Coffin Cheaters Motorcycle
Club along with six properties linked to club members in a co-ordinated dawn
operation.
A sub-machinegun, another high-powered rifle, five pistols and three shotguns
were found as police moved in at Warragul, Longwarry, Narre Warren, Noble Park,
Carrum Downs and Seaford.
Thousands of rounds of ammunition were confiscated. Cannabis and white powder
believed to be amphetamines were also seized. Alleged child pornography was
found on a disk during the search of a Warragul house.
Alcohol from the Phoenix St clubhouse was also seized, with police claiming the
club did not have the required licence to sell alcohol
Four men and a woman were arrested during the raids.
Insp Keith Cantle of Warragul police said yesterday's arrests and seizures were
the "fruits of months of hard work and planning".
It was Victoria's second large series of raids against outlaw clubs in the past
month. On May 18, 12 men were arrested in a police operation on 27 properties
linked to the Outlaws Motorcycle Club.
