"Outlaw motorcycle gang members are being recruited as
standover men on some building sites to scare competitors away.
The NSW Police gangs squad has uncovered muscle-for-hire bikie
operations in NSW, particularly in the Illawarra region.
It found gang members were being recruited to intimidate rival
builders from bidding or being granted lucrative building
contracts.
Some outlaw groups were also setting themselves up as building
contractors."
