Bike groups raise funds for children
with cancer

Money can't buy love, but when
thousands of dollars are handed to a bunch of sick kids it sure shows who
cares.
Two local bike groups have raised a total of $3000 for kids with cancer and
their families after hosting a series of events during a weekend in
December.
"You just never know (with cancer) -
if it's not your child it could easily be someone else's that you know,"
Rebels Dubbo member Peter Nelson said.
Rebels yesterday handed a cheque worth
$2200 to Camp Quality while fellow motorcycle troop Dubbo Ulysses Club
contributed a further $800.
The money was raised on the first
weekend in December during the annual Ulysses Charity Poker Run and Rebels
Bike and Car Show.
Mr Nelson said Camp Quality - a
non-profit organisation devoted to bringing hope and smiles to kids living
with cancer - was a worthy charity that the club had been donating to for
years.
"It's great because the money we give
here stays in this area," Mr Nelson said.
Mr Nelson deemed last year's Rebel's
bike show a success and said members of the club had travelled from all
across Australia for the annual event.
"This year we had a lot of our guys up
- it's basically for people around us to come and enjoy themselves and they
know that (the money) is going to Camp Quality," he said.
The Rebels also donated $300 to both
the NSW Rural Fire Service and St John Ambulance for helping during the
event and thanked all the businesses and services that lent a hand.
