Alleged bikie standover man refused
bail
An alleged standover man and debt collector has been refused bail at an
Adelaide Magistrates Court.
He is charged with blackmail and
detaining a person for ransom.
The court heard that the 28-year-old
man was acting as a debt collector for a member of the Finks bikie gang when
the abduction took place.
It is alleged the man and an
accomplice held the woman at Wingfield and other places earlier this month,
demanding a $20,000 ransom from her family.
The man's co-accused allegedly raped
the woman during her ordeal, which ended when police rescued her from a
Bolivar hotel.
In opposing bail under any conditions,
the prosecutor said that if released it was almost certain the man would
threaten and menace the alleged victim.
Magistrate Kym Millard said the
allegations were too serious to grant bail.
