TWO stolen Harley Davidson motorcycles have been found in a shipping
container at an Athol Park house today, in another raid on an outlaw
bikie gang.
Police raided the Amy St house this morning, uncovering the
motorcycles, a sawn-off shotgun and two air rifles.
The raid was part of a state-wide operation targeting organised
crime, car thefts and vehicle re-birthing.
Police found inconsistencies with the engine numbers on the
motorcycles seized from the house.
Detective Inspector Damien Powell said the swoop could reveal ties
with an organised crime syndicate, but would not reveal which gang
was suspected.
"We are currently investigating links between these premises and an
Adelaide-based motorcycle gang,'' he said.
Two people associated with the house were questioned but charges had
not been laid.
It was not known who owned the house.
Last week, police simultaneously raided six other properties,
netting nine cars, including a Porsche Boxster, two motorcycles, a
jet ski and drugs.
The vehicles were seized from properties in Beverley, Holden Hill,
Kilkenny, Flinders Park and West Croydon.
Forensic testing was being carried out to determine the origin of
the vehicles.
A Flinders Park man, 33, was charged with three counts of theft,
firearms and drug offences over the Saturday operation.
More arrests were expected
