Man linked to Comancheros charged with steroid importation
In August, Australian Customs and Border Protection Service officers intercepted a package that arrived as international mail from China.
Examination of the package uncovered steroids concealed within a powdered fruit drink, police said.
Investigations led officers from the gangs squad to charge a 28-year-old man over the importation.
During subsequent inquiries, investigators identified further instances of steroids allegedly being imported from China during March and August last year.
Two instances of methamphetamine imported from the United States in June and July were also identified.
Police spoke to a man at a home on Lake Entrance Road, Warilla, about 4pm on Tuesday.
The man, an associate of the Comanchero bikie gang, was issued a court attendance notice for seven offences relating to the unlawful importation of ‘tier 1’ goods and border-controlled drugs.
He will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on February 3.
