A man has been arrested at Sydney International Airport this morning and charged over the fatal shooting of a high ranking member of the Hells Angels bikie gang.

Zeljko Mitrovic, 45, was shot dead on January 15 at his transport business on Hassall St, Wetherill Park, following a heated confrontation with up to seven men. A 31-year-old man – an employee at the business – was also wounded in the incident.

Strike Force Lambourn was set up to investigate the murder. At 6.30am, a 21-year-old man was taken into custody by Homicide Squad detectives after he landed on a flight from Indonesia.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with murder and reckless grievous bodily harm in company. The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.

Last month, detectives charged a 33-year-old man over the same murder after he handed himself in at the Australian Consulate in Kuala Lumpur.
