Army intelligence officer assaulted outside bikie
headquarters
An army intelligence officer has been assaulted
outside the headquarters of an outlaw motorcycle gang in Perth.
The officer, who is aged in his early 20s, has a specialist role
with army intelligence which gives him access to classified
information.
It is unclear when, why or by whom he was attacked, but he was taken
to hospital this morning suffering facial injuries.
Police were alerted to the incident in suburban Bayswater when
residents saw the man staggering down Raleigh Road, where the Coffin
Cheaters have their main clubhouse.
There are claims he was attacked by up to 10 people but it is
understood the man has refused to press charges and has declined to
help the Specialist Gang Crime Squad with their investigation.
Scores of police raided the bikie headquarters this afternoon as
they tried to establish what happened.
They have also contacted the Defence Force in Canberra in a bid to
learn more about the officer's security classification.
