A 32-year-old man accused of holding his ex-girlfriend and her mum at gunpoint in Hamilton Hill overnight is a member of the Rebels motorcycle gang, a court has been told.
Jason Kemp appeared in the Fremantle Magistrates Court this afternoon, charged over a five-hour siege which ended when tactical response group officers stormed a Churm Street home last night.
Police were called about 7:30 pm when one of the women managed to flee the house and call triple zero.
The Fremantle Magistrates Court was told Mr Kemp is a patched member of the Rebels and used a loaded handgun to threaten the women, one of whom he’d been in a relationship with.
Police told the court the case against Mr Kemp was strong, and raised concerns he might try to interfere with witnesses if he was released on bail.
Bail was refused and Mr Kemp will be held in custody until his next court appearance in a fortnight.
