FAIRNESS is all one Rockhampton hotel owner is calling for
on behalf of motorcyclists.
Will Cordwell, from the Ascot Hotel, has
previously called for patrons not to be allowed to wear hoodies.
"You would never see that would you," he said.
Mr Cordwell said there were too many legal constraints
against bikies to a point where police were "targeting" bikers simply
because they rode motorcycles.
He said since the State Government had introduced laws
stipulating hoteliers who permitted bikie gang members wearing their colours
onto licensed premises could be fined up to $11,000, there had been a stigma
attached to riding motorcycles.
This week a notice was found at a North Rockhampton hotel
in Lakes Creek saying "bikers" (motorcycle enthusiasts) were welcome at the
Norm Marsden, who owns the Marsden Tavern in Yeppoon, said
he did not have any problems with bikies (gang affiliates) who entered his
premises before the legislation was introduced in October last year.
