Four outlaw bikie gangs targeted in Taskforce Maxima raids

Natalie Bochenski October 24, 2014

Police are expected to charge four people under anti-bikie laws after raiding an alleged defacto clubhouse on the Gold Coast.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima raided a Worongary home on Friday morning, allegedly uncovering five kilograms of cannabis, $35,000 cash, drug paraphernalia and Odins Warriors-branded gear.

Police will allege the Kurilpa Street address was being used as a meeting place and stand-in clubhouse for the Odins Warriors.

One of the men being questioned in custody is the owner-occupier of the house.

Another was caught by police while trying to run, allegedly in possession of cannabis bought from the premises.

Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said gang houses were used both to plan and run criminal activities, and to store illegal drugs and proceeds of crime.
