Police intercept bikies at top of Toowoomba Range
Police intercept members of the Rebels outlaw
motorcycle gang at the top of the Toowoomba Range.
A GROUP of about 15 Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang members have
been stopped by police before making their way through Toowoomba.
More than 20 officers scrambled to set up a checkpoint at the
top of the Toowoomba Range on Burnage St about 8.25am.
Toowoomba City Patrol Group officer Inspector Mark Wheeler
said licence checks, identity checks, random breath tests and motorcycle
roadworthy checks were conducted on the bikies.
"It is a standard response when we receive information that
outlaw motorcycle gang members are travelling through Toowoomba," Insp. Wheeler
Police had been tipped off the riders were heading west
towards Toowoomba on the Warrego Hwy.
