Member of the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang arrested over shooting of homes in Merrylands and Dover Heights

A MAN, part of the Hells Angels outlaw bikie gang, has been arrested by NSW Police over the alleged shooting at two Sydney homes.

Police were called to the intersection of Holdsworth and Price streets, Merrylands, about 8.30pm on Thursday, June 30, after residents reported a number of shots being fired.

They found a number of holes in the front of the residence where a woman, aged in her 30s, and a seven-year-old boy who were home at the time of the incident, escaped injury.

About 11.30am the next day, officers from Rose Bay police station were called to a home on George Street, Dover Heights, following the discovery of spent ammunition casings.

Police believe a house on the street was shot at the previous evening.

Strike Force Bairstowe, comprising detectives from NSW Police Force's Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad (MEOCS), was formed to investigate both alleged incidents.

Following extensive investigations, and with assistance from the relevant local area commands, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Wetherill Park, about 6.40am yesterday.

During the search police allegedly located and seized three shot guns, three rifles, a large quantity of ammunition, along with a small amount of cocaine and steroids.

Police also allegedly seized a number of items of Hells Angels OMCG clothing (it will be further alleged the man is a member of the outlaw motorcycle gang).

A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wetherill Park Police Station where he was interviewed before being released pending further inquiries.

Police expect charges to be laid after forensic testing is complete.
