87 XJ40(still searching for a photo)

I dont remember how long I was without a Jag after the brown one, but as business was ok again, I started looking for something in the 30-35K range. that would mean an XJ40 of the 87-88 vintage at the time. I finally settled on an 87 XJ6 in ivory , off  Parramatta Rd. What a beautiful car, immaculate inside and out. Pick it up and head over to Kings Cross to pick up a cheque. Wont back out of the carpark.... Check trans fluid. None showing. Add trans fluid. Ok again. A few days later however,  near where I bought it, the steering goes. The racks had it, but fortunately it was fixed under warranty, but a week without a car.....

I decided Id try and do the decent thing with this car and get proper regular services from a dealership in Parramatta. Good idea, only $700 a pop for a frigging oil change and not much else. Oh and lies about why they couldn't fix the air -con....Two of those services was enough and it was back to doing it myself...

After that, that was a great car for 7 years. except for a trans rebuild. And the air con that never worked properly. My ex got to keep it when we split up and disposed of it rapidly for some reason.....
